Getting Started
Copy the folder and all included files into your ADC2 directory. It is suggested
that Berlin 45 folder be kept in ADC2's 'Game Sets' folder. You must know
how to use the ADC2 program, and own a copy of the game "Berlin 45".

Scenarios
Three .ops files are included:

Berlin 45 No Setup.ops
To be used if Scenario 16 or 17 are played where deployment is totally
determined by the players.

Berlin 45 Historical.ops
German and Soviet units have been deployed. Note that the Berlin
Garrison is deployed too but should be adjusted to suit your strategy.
Soviet units should be deployed from their pools. Both sides
reinforcements have been placed on the turn track and Soviet
Replacement Markers have been set.

Berlin 45 Historical with Soviet Setup.ops
As the Historical.ops file with the addition of Soviet units placed on the
map. For those who prefer to move units around on the map than
deploy them from pools.

To play the Maximum Historical Scenario or the Eclipse Scenario, select one of
the historical setup files and then deploy the additional German, Soviet, and
Allied units from the pools.

Counters
Five additional Allied Air Supply markers are provided for use and are located
in the Markers Pool.

The German units Fuehrer Escort and Fuehrer Grenadier Divisions are
incorrectly identified as SS units in the game. Actually, they were offshoots of
the Grossdeutschland Division, and are thus given the Wehrmacht Feld-Gruen
counter color.

All units depleted side unit symbol are filled with a lighter shade than the
base unit color for easy identification.

Soviet 36-2-6 Artillery Corps are on the flip side of the 36-1-3 units as in the
boardgame.

Class Values
The class values displayed in order A. B. C. are:
A. Attack Factor
B. Defense Factor
C. Movement Factor

Piece Identification
Units have been identified by their unit designation followed by their parent
Army or Front, which identifies their setup or reinforcement entry point.
Example: 2nd Armored Division/9th Army indicates that this unit appears on
the mapedge between the two 9s on the map as described in rule 15.12.
Example: 10th Gd Tank Corps/1 UF indicates that this unit would be setup
in the 1st Ukrainian Front area on the map in accordance with rule 14.2.

Because of the length of some of the German units names, those names have
been truncated to fit within the 25 character limits of the program. These are
not instances of me misspelling the unit names.

Notes on Playing the Game
Flip definitions have been defined for all units. Two sided units flip back and
forth, so pay close attention when taking loses or adding replacements. The
turn marker can be flipped to indicate whose turn it is currently.

German classes have a facing defined, but all facings for units have been set
to No Facing. When playing an Eclipse scenario, you can designate which
German units are East or West by using the facing function. For simplicitys
sake I would recommend leave No Facing to indicate East Facing German
units (controlled by the Allied Player) and only use facing for the West Facing
German units (controlled by the Soviet Player).

Infopages
Info pages have not been established for any of the scenarios because
creating them for all the various scenarios would make the entire gameset too
large to fit on a 1.44 mb disk. However, BMP files of the CRT and TEC have
been included so that you can make your own Infopages if you desire.
Players may find that just using the charts provided with the game is more
convenient. Another method of using these BMP charts is to just open them
with Paintbrush and minimize them when not in use.

Hidden Units:
No hidden unit functions have been established in any of the .ops files. The
scale and nature of the battle does not lend itself to an accurate use of this
function without further handicapping the German Player.
