Peter the Great (The Wargamer #27)

This game set has been produced on v2.12 of ADC2.

Thanks to HPS for ADC2, JASC Software for Paint Shop Pro 4 (v4.15) and Nick Bell and HKL for
providing the means to post these titles for the appreciation of a wider audience.
Thanks also to other unknown (to me) individuals whose earlier graphic work has provided
some templates for my efforts.

My game sets are made as functional as necessary to enable me to play through the games on my
PC to my own degree of satisfaction - I don't have too much time to play around with graphic
embellishments. Irregular lines around coasts and terrain features don't interest me too much,
my rationale is that if one terrain dominates then it fills the hex, or if an inlet on the
coastline prevents movement between two adjacent hexes then it is shown as a hexside feature
etc etc. Reference to the rules or original map of the game should allow you to figure out my
rationale, and resolve discrepancies that I haven't noticed so far. You'll notice I have tried
to make an attmpt to do something with ravines on this map though.

Feel free to modify my work as you see fit and improve on the game set to suit it to your tastes.
If it is a big improvement then please post it on HKL.

Notes:

Counters	The original counter graphics were all printed in black on white or various
shades of green and blue. To try to identify the last step of units I have only
used black ink for the last step, otherwise white ink for Russians and various
		shades of yellow for Swedes.

Map I've tried to be as true to the original mapsheet as I can. I've used Kjell
Windsland's terrain library (thanks!) as my basis. If you don't like it you
can always edit the hex art.
The Swedish set-up line is now in cyan instead of dark brown.
The Swedish historical scenario set-up positions are now in navy, instead of red,
to distinguish them from the Russian set-up positions.
The Russian set-up line is now in orange, instead of red, to distinguish it from
                entrenchments.
On the original map hex 3329 is printed with both woods and ravine terrain. I
have decided to use just ravine. You can change it if you want.

Rule 14.4	Hand grenade markers are provided, but as an alternative all grenadier infantry
have piece value 1 entered as 'Hand grenades' (yes/no).

Force Pools	are set up for all the optional rules which affect units and markers.

Scenarios	The game file 'Peter the Great' is in aposition to allow any of the four game
		scenarios to be set up.

The game file 'Historical' is scenario 13.2 with unit positions based on
information from Peter Englund's book "The Battle of Poltava - The Birth of
		the Russian Empire" (ISBN 0 575 05107 8) and Angus Konstam's "Poltava 1709"
		(ISBN 1 85532 416 4).

Stack symbols	I've used non-period flags for both sides - I know they're not correct...
